“Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” – Luke 5:4
Healing Church Lebanon declares 2026 the Year of Depth.
In 2026, we step into a season where the Lord is calling our church beyond the familiar and into deeper waters. We see the Lord sitting among us as He once sat in Peter’s boat, teaching the multitudes. His presence is not distant or symbolic; it is active, instructive, and personal. Just as His words once carried authority over the waters, His voice today continues to shape and anchor our lives.
The deep teachings of Jesus are the reason we can venture further in our spiritual journey. They do not merely inform us; they transform us. Scripture reminds us, “They see the works of the LORD, And His wonders in the deep” (Psalm 107:24). Depth is where revelation becomes lived experience, where faith moves from hearing to seeing.
This year is not only a call to repentance, but a call to a deeper, firmer commitment to our walk with Christ, marked by maturity, obedience, and trust. As we grow in faith, we come to understand that the Lord’s calling is a privilege and a blessing, graciously extended to us.
Venturing deeper requires trusting Christ more than ourselves. It means surrendering to His will when the waters feel unfamiliar or demanding. We should always keep in mind that the deep seas are not navigated alone. As a church, we are all in the same boat with Christ. Individual effort and talent, detached from the body, are insufficient; depth demands unity, humility, and collective obedience.
Our goal is not depth for its own sake. The goal is the great catch. Just as Peter was called to cast his nets into deeper waters, we are called to become “fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19), reaching lives with the love and truth of Christ. And we never forget that it is the sacrifice that Jesus paid on the cross that made this possible. Through His blood, the veil was torn, granting us access to the deepest place, the Holy of Holies, where we can find rest in the presence of the LORD.
As we embrace the Year of Depth, let us remember:
• On the shore, we find miracles; but in the deep, we find the miracle Worker.
• On the shore, we find a teacher; but in the deep, we find the Holy One.
• On the shore, we find words; but in the deep, we find instructions.
• On the shore, we find comfortable subordination; but in the deep, we find obedient faith.
• On the shore, we find noise; in the deep, we find enough peace to hear the voice of the Lord.
May 2026 be a year where our church moves deeper with Christ, together, trusting Him fully, obeying Him faithfully, and witnessing an abundant harvest for His glory.
